Who Needs Bleach When You Have Sunlight

Cloth nappies are no longer the norm as everyone love the convenience of disposables, what they dont realise is the affect that these nappies have on the environment or even their children, so many babies have nappy rash due to the chemicals in these "convenient" inventions.
We only have disposables for when we go out and even then we have chlorine free nappies and i dont even like her sitting in them for long periods of time.
We started off using the good old terry toweling cloth nappies with the plastic pilchers but they tore so easy we got over that so i went looking for another alternative.
i came across the new "modern cloth nappy" at bumGenius and ordered some to trial.
i was so happy with the results i ended up buying more and with added cuteness who wouldnt.

One thing i always get asked is doesnt it take longer to do or but if you dont use bleach
how do you get the stains out, its easy its called sunlight dont belive me see for yourself.

That is just as i hung them out to dry after washing them on a normal cycle in teh washing machine no soaking or scrubbing.

Then this is 10 minutes after been in the sun.

by the time everything is dry they are stain free and ready to use again.

weekend has gone

Well what a weekend of not much at all, saturday was a slow day where we done house work and groceries what fun.
But Sunday we started off slow and just relaxed around home but by the afternoon i wanted to get out of the house and charlotte was a bit unsettled and bored at home so we went for a walk it wasn't raining at the time so we left while we could, we dont usually just go for a walk we only leave the house if something is planned, but i really felt like a walk but the dilemma was where to i dont no anything around this area but then i remembered i had seen that there was a big park area (while planning our wedding) but never really knew where it was but i knew the name and had seen the sign for it near the hospital so down the street we went and then we arrived at the lovely Camellia Gardens it also has a little cafe place the teahouse which im not quite sure if it has vegan options but it said it has vegetarian options.
it also wasnt very pram friendly so we couldn't go down into the full gardens but looked around the top part and took some photos here have a look.

matttii looking handsom
me and mattii
and the view
The next time we are there i will definitely be wearing little miss charlotte. The rain went from a fine misty rain to a bit heavier so we though we should get back home before it gets to heavy.
we arrived home and had a glass of water mattii and charlotte sat on the lounge and charlotte wanted what daddy was having and was not giving in easy so matt let her play with the cup making sure she didnt drink any of the water, so this was definitely a camera moment and here are some of the shots.

Im looking forward to the first time she realises there is actually stuff in there what a day that will be.
after getting charlotte to sleep i made some apple sauce muffins the mix only makes six and they dont look the best but taste so yummy is not a real sweet muffin so you can enjoy them with out feeling sick if u have too many :)

and that was our day we sat down to enjoy a lovely sunday roast for dinner.
i hope everyone else enjoyed there weekends.

world vegan day

well yesterday was world vegan day and to celebrate we decided to go to the sydney cruelty free festival i did have my camera with me but forgot to take photos (i do that alot)
i was worried about how little miss charlotte would go on the train she loved it and had two old ladies amused most of the way so with the train ride out of the way we arrived in the city it was such a lovely day with a nice breeze and all.
It was alot bigger this year which is always good to see that there are more people aware of living cruelty free.
we ended up getting a few goodie including

i'm yet to start reading my the ethics of what we eat but i cant wait to get started on some of the recipes from now vegan they look so good and simple.
when we arrived home i made matthew some rice balls for his laptop lunchbox ill start taking pics of the lunch boxes to post on here i think cos when it was all made up it looked yummy.
well thats all for today
have fun
:)

introduction

So i decided to make a blog, what it will be based on is not much at all just the day to day life of me and my small vegan family and whatever is on my mind at the time.
So please stick with me as it might take a while for me to get used to this whole blog thing but ill most likely update it weekly rather then daily or whenever i remember or get the chance.
